Description

Sevruga Steluga® Royal is making a comeback to the forefront of the caviar scene after a breakthrough in farm fishing. This Sevruga caviar with unparalleled softness is obtained from the starry sturgeon Acipenser stellatus, one of the three species that originated in the Caspian Sea, along with Beluga and Ossetra. This small sturgeon, covered in star-shaped patches, produces caviar that's meltingly soft, with a colour that ranges from pearly grey to charcoal grey. Thanks to its extremely creamy texture and perfectly mastered ageing, Sevruga Steluga® caviar coats the palate with strong briny flavours and has an exquisite, long finish.

How to enjoy caviar ?

Less is more! Caviar is best enjoyed on its own for an introduction, or simply on lightly buttered toast or blinis.

How to serve caviar?

Caviar is best enjoyed with a spoon (also known as a "palette") made of mother-of-pearl, stainless steel, or hard wood. Silver should be avoided to prevent any oxidation. To complement your tasting, discover our selection of caviar serviceware.

The Chef’s Choice for Sevruga

Iodized and straightforward, the Sevruga is enjoyed on a buttered dark bread toast with crunchy radishes and young sorrel leaves, or in perfect harmony with the delicate flesh of a fine claire oyster.

How to enjoy

To fully savour caviar, use a mother-of-pearl spoon and avoid metal which can alter its delicate flavours. Serve it chilled on a bed of ice, simply accompanied by a blini or light toast. Let each pearl melt on your tongue to reveal its iodized aromas, enhanced by a brut champagne or chilled vodka.
