No caviar or bestsellers here, just authentic, flavorful dishes full of history to share. Today, I present “Mame’s Kefta,” my grandmother’s meatballs.
Mame’s Kefta

Preparation: 10 minutes • Cooking: 10 minutes
Ingredients for 6 people
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
- 125 g breadcrumbs + 50 g for rolling the meatballs
- 150 g water
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper
- Flour for rolling the meatballs
Instructions
- Soak the breadcrumbs in water.
- Mix all ingredients and form the meatballs.
- Roll the meatballs in breadcrumbs, then in flour.
- Cook in a pan with hot oil (until halfway cooked) for 3 minutes on each side.
- Serve with yogurt sauce or tomato sauce.
