Caviar Bagel with Cream Cheese and Hazelnuts

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 plain bagels
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon hazelnut oil
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped chives
  • 1 hard-boiled egg yolk, crumbled
  • ½ cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 20 g toasted and crushed hazelnuts
  • 30 to 50 g of Ossetra Tsar Imperial Caviar®

Method

1. Prepare the base

Mix the cream cheese with the hazelnut oil and the chopped chives. This delicate touch of hazelnut oil adds a rich depth of flavour that pairs beautifully with the caviar.

2. Assemble the bagel

Slice the bagels in half and generously spread the flavoured cream cheese over the bottom halves.

Top with the thin cucumber slices, then sprinkle with the crumbled egg yolk and the crushed hazelnuts.

3. Add the caviar

Gently spoon the caviar over the top just before serving. It becomes the centrepiece of the recipe while preserving its freshness and delicate texture.

4. Enjoy

Close the bagel or serve it open-faced for a more elegant presentation. Serve immediately.

Chef's Tip

For the perfect balance of flavours, remove the caviar from the refrigerator a few minutes before serving and use a mother-of-pearl or wooden spoon to preserve the full delicacy of its aromas.
