What does caviar taste like? Each species of sturgeon has its own characteristic flavour, texture, and egg size. Follow the guide to find the caviar that best suits your palate and to guarantee a successful tasting.
Describing the taste of caviar is not an easy thing and also depends on how you personally experience it. Here are some general guidelines that will help you discover which caviar best matches your flavour preferences. Daurenki® has balanced, briny notes with a nutty aroma. Baïka® has a strong first taste with a very lightly briny yet full-bodied flavour, punctuated by a dominant fruitiness. Ossetra often has a nutty aroma with flavours of the sea and a strong, briny finish. Finally, Beluga has a very buttery flavour that's quite fatty, highlighted by notes of hazelnut and egg, and has a lovely, long finish.
To understand the flavour of caviar, we recommend tasting several ones one after the other, so that you can compare the differences in strength, aroma, and texture between each variety.
