Bagel au saumon fumé, citron et aneth

Smoked Salmon Bagel with Lemon and Dill

Preparation Time

10 minutes

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 everything bagels
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • Zest and a few drops of juice from half a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill
  • 150 g of hand-sliced smoked salmon
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • Malossol pickles, sliced lengthwise
  • Caper leaves
  • A few sprigs of fresh dill for garnish

Method

1. Prepare the cream cheese

In a bowl, whisk the cream cheese with the lemon zest, a few drops of lemon juice and the chopped dill until smooth and airy.

2. Assemble the bagel

Slice the everything bagels in half and generously spread the flavoured cream cheese over the bottom halves.

Arrange the smoked salmon slices with a little volume, then top with the red onion, pickles and caper leaves.

3. Finish

Add a few sprigs of fresh dill and a twist of black pepper if desired. Close the bagel or serve it open-faced to showcase its vibrant colours and textures.

4. Enjoy

Serve immediately with a crisp salad or homemade potato chips for a light yet indulgent lunch.

Chef's Tip

The secret to this smoked salmon bagel lies in the balance between the rich, silky salmon and the freshness of its toppings. Remove the salmon from the refrigerator a few minutes before assembling to let its full flavour develop, and choose mildly sweet and tangy pickles for an extra touch of finesse.

A glass of Champagne, a crisp dry white wine or a homemade lemonade with a hint of lemon makes the perfect pairing.
